Our Commitment to Child Safety

Maroochy Beach Gymnastics is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all children and young people.

Child safety underpins everything we do. We are guided by the Child Safe Standards and Universal Principle developed by the Queensland Family and Child Commission, and we actively embed these principles into our culture, programs and daily operations.

We recognise that every child has the right to feel safe, to be heard, and to be treated with respect. We are committed to creating an environment where children can participate in gymnastics with confidence, free from harm, and supported to reach their full potential.

Our Principles

We believe:

  • Every child’s safety and wellbeing is paramount
  • Children have the right to have their voices heard and respected
  • Safe environments are created through strong leadership, clear expectations and shared responsibility
  • Inclusion and respect for all children, families and backgrounds is essential
  • Ongoing education and awareness are critical to maintaining child safe practices

Our Commitment in Action

We are committed to:

  • Providing a safe, well-supervised and positive environment for all participants
  • Ensuring all staff, coaches and volunteers understand and uphold child safe practices
  • Promoting open, respectful communication with children, families and the wider community
  • Encouraging feedback and participation from families and members
  • Continuously reviewing and improving our policies, procedures and practices

Child safety is a shared responsibility, and we all play a role in creating a culture where children feel safe, valued and supported.
